LA Gov. issues state of Emergency

NORTHWEST LOUISIANA (KSLA) - Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards declared a state of Emergency for three ArkLaTex parishes on Thursday, May 9.

The parishes include Caddo, Bossier, Natchitoches, Jackson and Grant. The declaration lasts until June 7th.

This follows days of heavy rain and tornadoes.

In a statement, Gov. Edwards said, “Fortunately, there has not been any loss of life, but the damage is extensive, and because we know the bad weather may not be over we are continuing to monitor the forecasts and ground conditions as well as work with the local officials.”
