SAN AUGUSTINE COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - A disaster declaration has been signed for San Augustine County.
Jeff Boyd, San Augustine County Judge, signed the declaration on April 25 after a tornado blew threw the town of San Augustine.
The disaster declaration said the severe weather conditions have caused extensive damage to public and private property, disruption of utility service, and endangerment of health and safety of the residents of San Augustine County and cities within the disaster area.
The declaration also said the damage has caused severe damage to property, roads, and bridges, preventing access to or safe passage on roadways. Such conditions have created a public safety hazard.
The declaration said the county judge has determined that extraordinary measures must be taken to protect life, as well as protect or rehabilitate property, are necessary and hereby ordered.
