Man charged with murdering SPD Officer Chatéri Payne pleads not guilty

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - One of the men charged in connection with a Shreveport Police officer’s murder plead not guilty in court on Tuesday morning.

Tre’Veon Anderson, 26, entered a not guilty plea to second-degree murder to a Caddo Parish judge.

He along with Lawrence Pierre II and Glenn Frierson are accused in the shooting death of Officer Chatéri Payne.

Pierre and Frierson did not appear in court on Tuesday. The trio was arrested in January.

Officer Payne was shot and killed before starting her shift on January 8.

Anderson will return to court on June 19.
