NORTHWEST LOUISIANA, LA (KSLA) - Starting on the night of April 23, crews with the Louisiana Department of Transportation will begin work on portions of Interstate 20 in Shreveport.
Work began on Monday night. However, work will continue on Interstate 20 starting at 8 p.m. at the Interstate 20 interchange at Interstate 49.
The closure is related to a project to repair joints on the bridge decks of Interstate 20 in Caddo, Bienville and Webster Parishes, and I-49 in Shreveport, Caddo Parish.
In addition these ramps will be closed in Caddo Parish:
- I-20 westbound ramp to I-49 southbound
- Murphy Street on-ramp to I-49 southbound
- I-49 northbound ramp to I-20 eastbound
LADOTD says that the earliest these lane closures will begin is 7 p.m. All lanes are expected to be open by 6 a.m.
Daytime lane closures are permitted by LaDOTD on the weekends.
Officials say that this work will last three weeks.
