SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - The ArkLaTex may be best known for Cajun and seafood, however, Well+Fed Louisiana is bringing something different to the table.
What originally started as a pressed juice company, grew into a restaurant that is now ranked #18 on the list of 50 Best Vegan Restaurants in America, by Big 7 Travel.
The restaurant began when business partners and former fitness instructors, Lindsi Martin and Ashley Everage, wanted to help people incorporate more fruits and vegetables into their diets.
A common misconception of plant-based eating is that there are many limitations on what you can eat. “I think people stay focused on what they can’t have versus all of the really good quality food that they can have. Like ‘Oh my gosh I can’t have cheese’ or ‘Oh my goodness I can’t have meat," said Martin.
“Well there are tons of other things available for people, you just gotta look for them,”she added.
They prove that the only limit with plant based eating is your creativity.
Well+Fed offers vegan takes on savory classics such as the BLT and burgers. Their menu features organic and gluten-free selections.
Martin says the most important thing at Well+Fed is that everyone feels welcomed at their restaurant, vegan or not. They strive to treat everyone like family, while fuel their bodies with the very best ingredients.
The vegan lifestyle is exclusively plant based, meaning there is no consumption of animals or any animal byproducts.
