TEXARKANA, TX (KSLA) - Three men face drug charges as a result of Texarkana, Texas, police raiding their home Wednesday morning.
And there was a large police presence, including SWAT team members, when officers searched the residence in the 1700 block of Bowie Street.
“We have had a lot of problems in the neighborhood over there,” police spokesman Shawn Vaughn explained. “They went in with probaly more officers than normal simply to try and be able to control the situation on the onset so nobody got hurt.”
Police also said rocks recently were thrown at their cruisers as officers patrolled the area.
Authorities report having seized a quantity of narcotics and marijuana during the raid that started about 9:30 a.m.
“We have gotton information that there were narcotics in the house,” Vaughn said.
Neighbors told KSLA News 12 that there had been a lot of traffic going in and out of the residence over the past few weeks.
And investigators said they had the residence under surveillance for several days after getting numerous reports of drug activity there.
Arrested were 20-year-old Jordyn Pineda-Davis, 26-year-old Delvin Williams Jr. and 25-year-old Kiante Williams.
Delvin Williams is charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.
Pineda-Davis and Kiante Williams each faces a charge of possession of a controlled substance.
Also during the raid, authorities arrested two more men on unrelated misdemeanor warrants.
