BOSSIER PARISH, LA (KSLA) - An ArkLaTex man died and his passenger was seriously hurt when a car ran into the rear of their motorcycle, authorities report.
The wreck happened just after noon today on U.S. Highway 80 near Hillcrest Cemetery in Bossier Parish, according to Louisiana State Police.
Preliminary investigation indicates 89-year-old Marvin Curry, of Haughton, was driving a 2000 Toyota east on U.S. 80 when it struck the eastbound Honda motorcycle, Trooper Glenn Younger said.
Ricky D. Robinson, 51, of Coushatta, was taken to Ochsner LSU Health, where he died of his injuries.
His passenger, whose name has not been released, also was taken to the Shreveport hospital, where she remains in critical condition.
Curry was not injured.
Robinson and his passenger both were wearing DOT-approved motorcycle helmets.
Alcohol is not suspected as a factor in the fatal crash.
Toxicology samples were taken and will be submitted for analysis.
Louisiana State Police Troop G has investigated six fatal crashes resulting in six deaths this year.
