SOUTHEAST OKLAHOMA (KSLA) - What started out as a missing person case in Idabel, Oklahoma has know turned into a murder investigation but authorities say they have their man.

Idabel, Oklahoma Police Chief John Martin said Gary Dickson, 27 is believed responsible for the death of 68-year-old David Duncan. With the aid of cadaver dogs officials located human skeletal remains they believe is David Duncan.

The remains will be sent to the Oklahoma State crime lab for positive identification.

Last week police received an anonymous call saying Duncan had not been seen since October of last year.

“Some of the information we received is that he had possible been killed,” Chief Martin said. “There were some people driving his vehicles the vehicles.

Further investigation by the Oklahoma State Police and Idabel police led to Dickson's arrest.

Law enforcement officers spent the last two days searching a wooded area near Tom, Oklahoma. Chief Martin said the suspect told officers it was there where the body was dumped.

Authorities say Duncan was a military veteran.

Chief Martin said investigators are continuing this investigation to see of other suspects are involved.

Gary Dickson remains in the McCurtain County jail, his bond is pending.
