TEXARKANA, AR (KSLA) - New and re-elected officials were sworn into office today in Miller County, one made history.
Judge Kathy Harrison is the first woman to take the office in Miller County. No stranger to Miller County Harrison, she has served the past 20 years in multiple county departments.
"I’m looking forward in serving the citizens of Miller County we have really been working for the last six months getting thing ready to change,” says Judge Harrison
Harrison is not only the first woman but the first person to be elected to a four year term. She says she has big plans to improve the county.
“...Start applying for a lot of grants for Miller County I want to get the County Judge program installed for county roads in the County Judges' Office that will be a big asset to Miller County,” says Harrison.
Judge Harrison defeated Judge Roy John McNatt in November.
