SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - As people make their way home for the holidays, Shreveport Regional Airport says that this is their busiest season so far.
All airlines report that flights are nearing capacity on flights starting December 20 through December 26, with nearly 90 percent booked, according to a news release from the airport.
Multiple flights each day are already sold out.
“The holidays are always a busy time at the airport and this year is no exception. We recently opened our new, consolidated TSA screening checkpoint, which is helping move people faster through security to their flight,” said Director of Airports Henry Thompson, in a news release.
Holiday travelers are encouraged to show up early — as much as two hours — before Allegiant flights and at least one hour before an American, Delta or United flight.
As a reminder, yellow curb area in front of the terminal building is for active loading and unloading purposes only. Any vehicles left unattended are subject to being ticketed or towed.
Guests picking up are asked to wait in the Cell Phone lot. The Cell Phone lot allows guests to wait free of charge.
