BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) - The mayor of Bossier City has been honored by the very college he attended back in the 1950′s.

According to Tracy Landry, public information officer for Bossier City, Mayor Lorenz “Lo” Walker was named 2018 Alumnus of the Year and Distinguished Alumni of the Colleges by Louisiana Tech. Walker attended Louisiana Tech and graduated from the school in 1956.

Walker, who was elected Bossier City’s mayor in 2005, served 30 years in the U.S. Air Force after he graduated college.

Walker was honored with the award during a luncheon in mid-October.

“I am truly humbled and honored and thank the Louisiana Tech Alumni Association for selecting me," Walker is quoted in a news release.
