Man accused of raping and/or sexually assaulting 3 preteen girls

Bossier authorities arrest child rape suspect

BOSSIER PARISH, LA (KSLA) - A Bossier City man is accused of raping and/or molesting three preteen girls.

Daniel E. Hedrick, 47, is being held in Bossier Maximum-Security Facility at Plain Dealing.

His bonds total $2.75 million.

Hedrick is in custody “and he cannot harm these girls any longer,” Bossier sheriff’s Lt. Bill Davis stressed.

Bossier sheriff’s detectives booked Hedrick into the lockup at 7:40 p.m. Wednesday on two counts of molestation of a juvenile and one count each of first-degree rape and aggravated crimes against nature.

He is suspected of sexually abusing a preteen girl for a number of years and sexually assaulting two other preteen girls at various Bossier City residences where he has lived over the past 10 years.

Sheriff Julian Whittington encourages anyone who has been a victim of sexual assault to tell a trusted adult and contact their nearest law enforcement agency.

“I can only imagine how painful this is for these girls to come forward and talk about the horrific things they endured with this man,” the sheriff said a statement.

“But their courage in telling their story helped us properly investigate this case, bring charges against this man and help start the healing process for these girls. He will not harm then any longer.”
