SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - Two vehicles were involved in a rolling gun battle on the streets of Shreveport, authorities say.
Now two men are in custody and police are looking for other people in connection with the confrontation.
Officers responding to reports of gunshots at 6:35 p.m. Wednesday found a car wrecked in front of a residence in the 800 block of Pine Tree Drive.
That's immediately east of the Woodlawn High School campus.
Investigators think the wrecked car is one of two vehicles that were involved in a gun battle that started around West 73rd Street at Union Avenue, which is about 0.2 of a mile away.
There were at least three people in the car that wrecked, police Cpl Angie Willhite said.
Two of them, both men, were caught by police in the backyard of a nearby residence.
Investigators found some blood near the scene that leads to the possibility that somebody was wounded in the melee, Willhite said.
“However, they have not shown up to the hospital and they walked away from the scene on their own power.”
Authorities have yet to identify who was in the other vehicle - a small, gray sedan.
One gun has been recovered.
And police report having found a number of shell casings at 73rd at Union.
