Minden man dies when train strikes pickup stopped on railroad tracks

WEBSTER PARISH, LA (KSLA) - A train struck a pickup that was stopped on railroad tracks, killing a Webster Parish man.

Authorities have identified him as 33-year-old Jason Fory, of Minden.

The collision occurred shortly before 2 a.m. Monday at a crossing along Stuckey Road about 1.6 miles south of Interstate 20 and almost three miles east of Dubberly.

A 16-car Kansas City Southern train was traveling west when it struck Fory’s 1991 Ford truck, according to Louisiana State Police.

The impact ejected him, who was not wearing a seat belt.

Fory was pronounced dead at the scene by a representative of the Webster Parish coroner’s office.

A toxicology sample from Fory has been submitted for analysis.

This is the 12th fatal crash that Louisiana State Police Troop G has investigated this year. A dozen people died in those crashes.
