Today's Forecast Image

What a change a day makes! Dry and mild for your Thursday, as daytime highs top out in the mid to upper 70s this afternoon. Enjoy the sunshine, today because unsettled weather moves in for our weekend.

It will be hot and muggy on Friday, as an increase of gulf moisture moves into the region. Afternoon highs will near 90 degrees. Clouds continue to fill in throughout the day, and a few stronger storms will be possible for the far northern edge of the region late Friday evening.

A strong and slow moving system will bring rain and storms early Saturday evening. A few storms could become severe with damaging wind and large hail the biggest threats. However, an isolated tornado, or two cannot be ruled out. Another big threat with this system will be torrential rain. If models are lining up correctly, we could see 3-5" of rain between Saturday and Sunday with a few areas receiving even more than that.

Rain moves out by midday on Sunday. It will be cool and damp to end the weekend.

The next work week will bring the return of sunshine and mild conditions. Daytime highs will climb from the mid 70s to the low 80s by Tuesday.

Rain and storms possible Wednesday afternoon, with showers lingering overnight. We're back on a dry and sunny trend by Thursday afternoon, with mild and clear conditions to carry us through the next weekend.

Have a great rest of your day!

Tropical Storm Arlene is the first named storm of the 2017 Hurricane Season. Why rare? First, the hurricane season runs from June 1st through November 30th, So it's a bit early. And it's only the second storm to form this early since satellite tracking has existed. Arlene had, at her peak, estimated winds of 50 mph. It is now Post-Tropical and is over open water with no threat to land. It is expected to dissipate late Friday. Early tropical storm formation is not a...More >>
