Suspect in death of pregnant Shreveport woman pleads not guilty

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - One of two men facing accused in the beating death of a pregnant 18-year-old Shreveport woman plead not guilty to the charges.

Marcus Taylor entered that plea Monday in Caddo District Court.

Both Taylor and Lamondre Tucker were indicted for first degree murder in the September death of Tavia Sills. Police believe Taylor helped Tucker in the planning and killing of Sills.

Sills' body was discovered in a pond just beyond the dead end of Legardy Street.

Police say Tucker was the father of Sills unborn baby.

Both men are due back in court in January.
