Air Force starts to talk about Cyber Command once again

WASHINGTON, D.C. (KSLA) - After putting the program on hold in August while new Air Force leadership took office, military officials are again talking about Cyber Command.

At a meeting of senior Air Force leaders at the beginning of October, it was decided that the Air Force would establish a Numbered Air Force for cyber operations under the Air Force Space Command.

The Air Force also said it would continue to develop capabilities to establish Cyber Command for Air Force operations.

The Air Force is also expected to provide more details about Cyber Command's future later this month after discussions with pentagon and congressional leaders.

The permanent location of the Air Force Cyber Command might still be up in the air, but construction on the Cyber Innovation Center is well underway in Bossier.

They started turning dirt at the site next to the Bossier Parish Community College in August.
