Special Care Program

Our Special Care Program is designed to support residents with Alzheimer's disease and related dementia. The Kingsley Place staff members join with the resident and their family in creating a new home for their loved one.

Kingsley Place offers:

Family Partnerships: Family is a very important part of our care. Involving families from the beginning, we customize a plan of care around the resident's past history. We learn about our resident's life experiences, accomplishments and challenges from the family, which helps us plan how to make the transition to a new home easier.

Personalized Environment: Partnering with family and friends, we help decorate the resident's apartment and surrounding common areas to represent the resident's past preferences and experiences.

Individualized Service and Care Plan: As we welcome a resident into our community, we complete a screening to ensure a good match. This screening forms the foundation for the resident's Service and Care Plan. This plan integrates past events into the resident's current environment, promoting self-esteem and the comfort of a daily routine.

Activities Program: for residents with varying needs: We combine a routine, structured environment with small group and one-on-one interactions designed to help residents feel safe, feel secure and give a sense of belonging and accomplishment.

Dining and Hydration Program: Our program is designed to meet the nutritional challenges associated with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias.

Dedicated Staff: Our staff, trained in all aspects of the disease, provides excellent care for our residents. We promote special relationships between resident, family and care giver -and that means better care.
