CAMDEN COUNTY, GA (KSLA) - A fugitive wanted by the Natchitoches Parish Sheriffs Office is now back behind bars.
Richard Patrick Maher, also known as Stephen Hegarty was wanted after escaping for the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center back on September 6th. United States Marshals arrested Hegarty last weekend in Kingsland, GA.
Hegarty was jailed on a 2006 burglary charge. On top of the escape, Hegarty now faces charges of attacking a deputy, and stealing a truck in Alabama. Hegarty is currently being held at the Camden County, GA jail. There's no word if Hegarty will be brought back to Louisiana.
