SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA)   Shreveport police Chief Henry Whitehorn says  Jarxavier Lane was arrested in Bossier City Friday on drug charges.

He is the main person of interest in the murder of Cordovious Benjamins.

Benjamins was shot to death in his sleep early Friday morning.

It happened just after 5:30am. Benjamins was carried out of the residence of

3011 Regent Street in Shreveport.

Police say Benjamins was just visiting the residence and spent the night.

He was asleep in bed when someone entered the room and shot him multiple times.

Police say there was no forced entry.

In a house full of people sleeping, someone walked in and went for the bedroom where benjamins was sleeping.

This brings us back to Jarxavier Lane. He did live at the house, but was not there after the shooting.

I just want to clarify that police arrested Lane as a person of interest, but have not charged him with benjamins murder.

They are still looking for a suspect who could be armed and dangerous.
