ORANGE, Texas (AP) - Texas evacuees: "Stay where you are."
That's the advice today from Governor Rick Perry to people who evacuated parts of Hurricane Ike devastated southeast Texas.
Perry and State Homeland Security director Steve McCraw visited Orange.
President Bush tomorrow will be in Houston and Galveston to review the hurricane damage.
Perry says evacuees should stay away from impacted areas until authorities have given the all clear.
State officials say there are still at least 37,000 evacuees housed in public shelters since Ike roared into Texas early Saturday.
Texas has at least 284 mass shelters.
The Associated Press reports more than 1.73 million customers in Texas are still without electricity.
