Republican presidential candidate John McCain has made his pick for a running mate. Sources confirmed this morning that Alaska Governor Sarah Palin will be McCain's vice presidential running mate. Palin, like McCain, is a conservative maverick, with a streak of showing a willingness to clash with others in her own party. Palin, 44, is described as a self-styled hockey mom and political reformer, who has been the governor of Alaska for less than two years. She and her husband Todd Palin, have five children. The latest, a baby, was born with Down syndrome.
