SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - It was a hero's welcome Tuesday night at Shreveport Regional Airport for Olympian Kendrick Farris.
Farris returned home from Beijing after placing 8th in his weightlifting event at the Olympics.
"I felt like the results were going to be better, but, I mean, I need to work a little harder," Farris said. "I can see where I'm at now as far as world status, (but) I'm fired up. I'm not disturbed at all, when you perform as well as I did. I did the best I could."
While he did not bring home a medal, Farris did break two American records in the process. He says he has fond memories from his time in China.
Farris was greeted by about 50 friends and family members when he got off the plane. He says he fully intends to make a run at a medal at the London Olympics in 2012.
