SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -  And then there were 8, today Shreveport Police made another round of arrests in a drive-by shooting that killed a man over the weekend. 18 year old Larry Norwood, 19 year old Garrett Watson, and 19 year old Norman Frazier were arrested in connection with the murder of 36 year old Donte' Gilbert. The three join five others already behind bars. "We were able to identify the persons that committed the crime. We found some weapons and some of the other evidence involved in the crime."

Gilbert was killed when a group of at least four cars carrying the suspects fired more than 30 rounds into a house on Springhill St.; the gunfire also wounded 24 year old Jerry Bryant. "In a case where there's an assault by drive-by, whether it's multiple individuals you have to determine which person played which role. In this case there were several shooters and several drivers." Shreveport Detective Rod Demery says the shooting is the result of a dispute between one of the suspects, and another man. "There was no dispute over drugs or money or anything that motivates one person to kill."

And if 8 weren't enough, Demery says more arrests are coming. "At this point we've identified at least 10 people. 8 of those have been arrested... The investigation is still ongoing."
