SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - There are a few new additons outside Government Plaza in downtown Shreveport, and they're not just for good looks.
Giant concrete planters are now in place as part of a resolution passed by the Shreveport City Council in June.
The call for better security came after a deadly rampage in Kirkland, Missouri in which a lone gunman stormed the city council and opened fire.
Other security upgrades in the works for Government Plaza include video surveillance, electronic access to elevators and more on-duty sheriff's deputies.
