Natchitoches Police looking for teen accused of robbery, shooting

NATCHITOCHES, LA (KSLA) - A Natchitoches teen is wanted by police for shooting a man during a robbery attempt.

Police say the suspect is 18-year-old Jimmy Dornell Brown. Brown is 6' 1" tall, weighs about 180 lbs. and has a medium complexion.

Brown faces charges of attempted first degree murder, attempted armed robbery and attempted armed robbery using a firearm.

Just after 6:00 am on July 19, police say the 35-year-old victim was walking to his car in the 500 block of Rowena St. when Brown came out from a back yard, pointed a gun at the victim and tried to rob him. During the exchange the victim was shot in the abdomen and Brown ran off.

The victim was transferred from a Natchitoches hospital to LSU Hospital in Shreveport for treatment of his injuries.
