SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - With hundreds of Shreveport teens preparing to enter the workforce, about 35 employers from across the area came out Thursday to the Shreveport Job Corp Center.
Barksdale Credit Union, the city marshal's office and the army were among the recruiters who came to the center to talk to students.
The 350 students attending today's fair were not only given the opportunity for employment, but many companies shared the qualities and skills essential for today's employee.
"I'm interested in the National Guard (and) other fields like cosmetology and federal tax services," said student Dominique Draper.
When asked what she talked to military recruiters about, student Jasmine Jacobson said, "What type of spots I would go to because I am a female and females can do combat."
The Shreveport Job Corps Center puts on a career fair twice a year. At each fair about 90 students find jobs.
