Shreveport police say fight over stolen car led to gunshots

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - Shreveport Police say an ongoing argument over a stolen car is what led to gunshots being fired in one neighborhood on Monday.

Police say those shots were fired at a car parked in the Allendale neighborhood at the corner of North Pierre Avenue and Buena Vista.

But police say they were quickly able to catch up with the suspects.

"We had a vehicle description they left in," said Sgt. Kevin Goodwin with the Shreveport Police Department. "One of the city marshals spotted the vehicle and after a short pursuit he fled from the vehicle and officers caught him."

Police arrested Darrien Holmes near Linwood Avenue and Levy Street. They also arrested his girlfriend, Emily Jackson, on Williams Street near LSU Hospital.

Officers say the man fired at least five .45-caliber rounds into the car. He's charged with aggravated property damage. Officers arrested the woman on unrelated misdemeanor warrants.
