Shreveport mayor comments on recent downtown arrest of actors Brolin, Wright

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - Shreveport Mayor Cedric Glover spoke publically at Tuesday night's city council meeting about the recent arrest of actor's Josh Brolin and Jeffery Wright.

"I believe each and every member of the Shreveport Police Department involved in that incident, as well as the fire personnel that came in to render first aid, conducted themselves in a manner that is, without question, beyond reproach, and exhibited the kind of professionalism that each of you, and I, would expect them to," he said.

Police arrested Brolin, Wright, and several other crewmembers of Oliver Stone's movie called 'W' just hours after the final day of filming. Everyone had gone to Straycats Bar when some members of the crew were asked to leave. Police say when they arrived to arrest one of the crew members, Brolin, Wright and other crewmembers interfered, causing an altercation.

Glover told council members police video of the incident is not public, however a defense attorney would have access to it.

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - Shreveport Police say they have video evidence of a fight outside a bar involving actors Josh Brolin and Jeffery Wright.

Shreveport Police confirmed they have video of the brawl outside the Stray Cat Club, located in downtown. Members of the crew who recently finished filming the Oliver Stone movie "W" were arrested.

police have not elaborated on what is seen and heard from the patrol car dashcam.

Brolin, Wright and five crew members posted bond after being charged with misdemeanors for the melee.

The chief says he's reviewing the case and will pass it on to the prosecutor's office, which will decide whether to proceed with charges.
