SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - 4 people are thankful to be alive after a fire ripped through their home early Sunday morning.

The fire started around 5 Sunday morning at a house on W72nd St. A neighbor saw the fire, and quickly went to alert the residents.

Shreveport firefighters say the fire was leaving, the west side of the house, and went up a tree.

Fire officials also say the residents are lucky, because the fire was vented to the outside of the house, and the fire station was just a block away.

One person was cut on the right arm trying to escape through a window.

Fire investigators are currently on the scene to find the cause of the early.
