SHRVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - A man is behind bars sentenced to 180 days after running from Shreveport's City Court.
It happened around 2:45 Thursday afternoon.
The man was in court over speeding tickets. That's when police say he heard the person before him being sentenced to jail time for being a repeat offender.
Shreveport City Court surveillance camera's catch the man grab his keys and run out the front door. Soon after, police officers are also seen running out the front door behind him.
The man only makes it as far as across the street before he's caught near the Sun Furniture building. Cameras then catch the man being escorted by several officers back into court at around 3:30.
Police say he made his appointment with the judge. He was sentenced to 180 days and $500 in fines. The man is later caught on surveillance talking to other cell mates about what he did.
