Four NW LA state board member resign over new financial disclosure rules

BATON ROUGE, LA (KSLA) - The list of state employees quitting over the new financial disclosure laws that take effect Tuesday is now close to 140. Four of them are from northwest Louisiana.

Harold White has resigned from the Caddo Levee Board, while three others have stepped down from the Downtown Development Authority: Dannye Malone, Mike McSwain and Michael Whitemaine.

Any public official or member of a state board or commission who didn't want to disclose detailed personal financial information had to resign before Tuesday to avoid the new equirements.
