SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - A jury has been selected in the trial against a former Shreveport police officer.

Roderick Moore, 52, of Haughton is accused of selling cocaine and prescription pills. He was arrested back on November 1st and then again in December while after police say he sold drugs to an undercover narcotics agent during an operation at a Shreveport club.

The former sergeant was fired from his job in December after being rearrested and then charged with malfeasance along with another SPD officer after police say he used work computers to run tags to try and figure out who turned him in.

A jury of eight women and four men plus two alternate women was selected just after 5 pm.  They consist of a retired school teacher, a doctor, and a substitute teacher.

It's expected they will be sworn in tomorrow morning and then should hear opening arguments. The trial is expected to run through Thursday.
