Burglars hit several Shreveport businesses overnight

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - It has been a busy night for business break-ins in Shreveport.

Police investigated no fewer than a half dozen burglaries Monday night and early Tuesday morning, and it appears that, in all the cases, the bad guys got away.

An alarm company alerted police to one of the break-ins late Monday night at a clothing store called The Candy Shop, located in the 7000 block of Linwood Avenue. 

Police say when they arrived, the suspects scattered and managed to run away.

They planned to review the store's surveillance video in the hope of identifying the burglars.

In another case, around 3:15 a. m. Tuesday, police responded to a break-in at Auto Zone in the 3400 block of Greenwood Road. 

They say someone used a big concrete block to shatter a lower glass panel of the front window and crawled inside, taking at least two tool boxes.

The suspects in that case also got away.
