SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - Shreveport police have identified a woman who was critically injured in an overnight car accident on Shreveport's Youree Drive.  They say she's Jennifer Baker, 38. Hers was one of at least three major wrecks within a one hour period early Thursday.

Shreveport police say Baker's car was the only one involved in the crash which happened around 1:30 a. m. at the corner of Youree and E. Washington.

Investigators at the scene told KSLA News 12 it appears she lost control of her car while heading north on Youree and hit two utility poles before coming to rest near the intersection.

The driver's side of the vehicle was crushed in the crash.  Firefighters had to use their jaws of life to free her.

Baker was rushed to LSU Health Sciences Center with life-threatening injuries, police said.  As of 5:45 a. m., she was in critical condition.

About 30 minutes after that accident, police were called to another major wreck in the 4100 block of Pines Road involving a passenger car and a bread truck.  Another 30 minutes brought another wreck, this time on Baird Road near Crabapple Drive.  There were no details available on either of those crashes, although they also reportedly involved injuries.

Police are still investigating the cause of the Youree Drive crash.
