Pat Simon is KSLA News 12's 5, 6 and 10 PM Anchor, Monday through Friday.

Pat brings 25 years of broadcasting experience to our news team here at KSLA News 12 and it has already translated into a major honor for the station.

Pat won the prestigious First Place Louisiana Associated Press Award for Feature Reporting in a Major Market. "Parting the Waters: Jacob's Story" was about how a community came to the aid of an Ark-La-Tex family who struggled after almost losing their son in a boating accident.

Pat has a penchant for politics and has covered the political scene from the local, state and national levels. He anchors our election night coverage with the most up to date results and analysis. Pat served as moderator of our 2010 Shreveport Mayoral Debate. He was also a panelist in the statewide televised 2008 U.S. Senate Race between incumbent Mary Landrieu and challenger John Kennedy. In addition, he reported on the presidential campaigns of Senators Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton in the swing state of North Carolina during the 2008 Democratic Primary.

Perhaps the most unique part about Pat's journalism career is that he actually wears two media related hats, one of them as a Public Affairs Officer with the Louisiana Army National Guard. Pat returned to the anchor desk at the end of 2009 after serving a tour of duty in Iraq supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. While he was there, Pat wrote about the tremendous work that was done by the 225th Engineer Brigade to help restore peace and security in and around Baghdad. Pat returned home with wartime experience that now enhances KSLA News 12's "Coverage on the War on Terror."

In addition, Pat and his co-anchor Domonique Benn interview the Ark-La-Tex's movers and shakers in our weekly "Newsmakers" that airs on KSLA News 12 Sunday at 10.

In his spare time, Pat enjoys jogging, snow skiing and LSU and Saints football.
