LA State Trooper injured in I-20 accident

BOSSIER PARISH, LA (KSLA) - An accident Tuesday morning leaves a Louisiana State Trooper injured  and a another driver in critical condition.

The accident happened around 9:00 am on I-20 eastbound and mile marker 30 in Bossier Parish. Troopers say the driver of a pickup truck was weaving on the road when he struck the trooper's car before finally landing in a ditch. The driver of the truck was taken to LSU Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The trooper has some minor injuries but is OK.

Lt. Tim hollislouisiana state police "Witness statements say that the vehicle that struck him was weaving all over the road, and then as he got right up to the State Trooper he veered hard to the right, lost control and struck a tree," said Louisiana State Police Trooper Lt. Tim Hollis.

Traffic at that part of I-20 was backed up for miles, but the stretch has since reopened.
