SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - In just a five hour period, four people died in three separate ATV wrecks in the Ark-La-Tex.

The first happened Thursday night just after 8 o'clock in Rapides Parish. Louisiana State Police say two-seven-year old boys, Joel Lawrence and Braden Johnson, were killed while driving their ATV down Kepler Road in Glenmora. Troopers say a pickup truck crossed the center lane and hit the boys. The driver of the truck was booked with DWI.

The second wreck happened about an hour later in Sabine Parish. Troopers say two people on an ATV were injured when they were hit by a car on Highway 6. Police say the driver of the four-wheeler failed to yield to traffic while trying to cross the highway.  Both riders were thrown from the ATV. Neither was wearing a helmet.

About 1:00 am Friday, two men were killed in Mena, Arkansas when two ATVs collided head on. Arkansas State Police say 33-year-old Shane Long of Mena was driving northbound on an ATV when he was struck by 24-year-old Aaron Goodner of Oden. Police say Goodner was driving his four-wheeler southbound in the northbound lane, leading to the collision.
