Man charged with exposing woman, unborn child to AIDS virus

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - A Shreveport man is accused of intentionally exposing a woman and her unborn child to the virus that causes AIDS.

Thirty-three-year-old Terre English is charged with two counts of intentional exposure to HIV, for reportedly having unprotected sex with a pregnant woman in spite of knowing he carries the virus.

Police say that when she found out about his condition, she contacted them.

If convicted, English could be fined $5,000 and sentenced to 10 years in prison for each count.
