Shreveport police have issued an alert for a driver who they believe caused a major wreck that shut down part of Interstate 20 near downtown Shreveport Thursday morning.
They're looking for Willie Winzer, 31, of Shreveport.  Police believe Winzer was driving his car west in the eastbound lanes of I-20 and crashed into two other vehicles around 2 a .m.
One of the vehicles that was hit was a Federal Express 18-wheeler type truck.  During the crash, a fuel tank on it ruptured, spilling fuel on the roadway.
Police shut down I-20 east from the Interstate 49 exchange to the downtown exits.  The highway remained closed until around 8:30 a. m., when one lane reopened.  The two innermost lanes remained closed as of 9:30 a. m.
John Brocato, 55, was in a compact car that was hit.  He was taken to a hospital complaining of back pain.
Police say Sonia Bass, 28, was a passenger in the wrong way car.  Firefighters had to cut the vehicle to get her out. She also was taken to a hospital with what they described as moderate injuries.
Police believe Winzer also may have been injured in the crash.  Shreveport Crimestoppers is offering a $700 reward for information on his whereabouts.  Anyone who knows where police can locate him is asked to call (318) 673-7373.
