The Red Cross estimates that of the 543 homes in Louisiana damaged by this week's storms, more than 300 of them are in Shreveport and Bossier City.
Most of Louisiana's major metropolitan areas have homes that suffered flood and wind damage over the last few days.
Michelle Davison with the Northwest Louisiana Red Cross said the shelter at the University Church of Christ remains open with eight people. The Red Cross has also done direct assistance with 20 clients and expect to put more volunteer teams out over the weekend to see if more people need help.
Davison also says the cost for this effort has topped $70,000. The Red Cross is asking for donations to help out.
