Cross Lake Levels Rising, Flooding Expected

Updated 5:00 pm - Shreveport Police say Cross Lake is currently at 171.4 and rising. Therefore, the lake will be closed to all boat traffic. Those who live in flood-prone areas of the lake are advised to take precautions necessary for flooding.

Shreveport Police are warning all people and businesses in low lying areas along Cross Lake to prepare for possible flooding.
Police say all spillway gates are open, but with all the rain we've seen that doesn't reduce the risk of flooding.
Right now, Cross Lake is expected to crest near 174 feet, but with more rain in the forecast, that number could rise.
