RED CROSS RE-OPENING FLOOD SHELTER IN SHREVEPORT

The Northwest Louisiana Chapter of the American Red Cross is re-opening the shelter at University Church of Christ, 2045 E. 70th Street, Shreveport at 11am. The shelter opened last night as a result of the flooding that was occurring across the area but closed at 5:30am because no one came to the shelter seeking assistance. Based on calls received and preliminary disaster assessments, the Red Cross has determined there is a need to re-open the shelter for anyone in Caddo, Bossier or the surrounding areas that has suffered storm damage and needs a safe place to stay.

The Red Cross is also requesting that anyone who has experienced damage or is in need of emergency disaster-related assistance call the American Red Cross at (318) 865-9545.

All Red Cross disaster assistance is free and is made possible through the generous donations of the American public. For more information on donating to this or other disasters, or volunteering, please call (318) 865-9545.
