Caddo Parish Man Gets Jail Time For Fatal DWI Accident

An Ark-La-Tex man will spend time in prison for a drunk driving accident last year that killed two Alabama residents traveling in Caddo Parish.
Twenty-year-old Jacob Cannon of Mooringsport plead guilty Monday to two counts of vehicular homicide. He was sentenced to 20 years hard labor on each count. Five years of the sentence must be served without probation or parole.
Seventy-eight-year-old Walter Allen of Birmingham, Alabama and 63-year-old Gail Price of Pinson were traveling on Louisiana Highway 1 on September 30, 2007. Accident investigators say that night, Cannon had an blood alcohol level of .220 when he rear-ended the truck Allen and Price were in, causing it to veer into the path of an 18-wheeler.
