A former east Texas patrol deputy has entered a guilty plea to tampering and is now facing jail time.
Thirty-two-year-old Thomas Elliott entered the guilty plea yesterday. He was a deputy for Harrison County.
Prosecutors say Elliott attempted to bribe a witness in connection with his divorce case.
Elliott surrendered his peace officer's license and will serve six months in jail, be placed on five years probation, and must undergo psychiatric counseling for a year.
