A massive outreach to help Louisiana's uninsured children kicked off Monday.
The program is called LA CHIP, or Louisiana Children's Health Insurance Program.
LA CHIP provides full insurance coverage to children up to age 19 whose family meets certain financial requirements.
From March 31st to April 4th, medicade employees will be at various locations in Bossier, Webster, Red River, DeSoto, Bienville and Claiborne Parishes to hand out enrollment information.
"We are going out to target businesses, daycares, libraries, whatever we can find in the rural parishes to let people know about LA CHIP," said coordinator Melinda Foster.
