Murder Trial Of Pleasant Hill Couple To Begin On Monday

Posted: Updated:

An Ark-La-Tex murder trial will start Monday despite an appeal from defense attorneys to postpone the case.
Twenty-eight-year-old Jimmy Turner of Pleasant Hill faces two counts each of first degree murder and armed robbery in the deaths of Nancy and Andy Johnson.
The couple were killed at their Sabine Parish Feed and Seed store back in August of 2003.
Turner's attorneys asked an appeals court to remove the Sabine District Attorney from the case, but the request was denied.
A jury will be chosen from Allen Parish then brought to Sabine Parish for the trial.
Turner faces the death penalty if convicted.
Three other people also face charges related to the crime.
