Arkansas Traffic Stop Ends With Fight, Injured Officer

An early morning police stop lands an Arkansas man in jail and an officer in the hospital.

Ashdown police say Jarvis roberson was pulled over on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol around 4:00 am Sunday morning.

Police say when they tried to arrest Roberson, he resisted and a fight started.

But family members who say they witnessed the incident say that's not what happened.

Officer Brandon Kennemore received a broken ankle, an injury to his left shoulder and other minor injuries.

The police department will not confirm or deny who started the fight.

They are not releasing any further details in the case.

Charges of second degree battery, resisting arrest and DWI are pending for Roberson.
