Shreveport Refinery Loses Power When Transformer Blows

There were some rather exciting moments for employees at Shreveport's Calumet Lubricants Plant Monday afternoon.
A Calumet spokesperson told KSLA News 12 that a transformer blew, causing a loss of power to the facility for about an hour.
Calumet officials say they have a contingency plan ready for a power loss, and that it went into effect immediately, with some areas using back-up power.
Some concerned viewers called KSLA asking about the black smoke that was seen coming from Calumet, but officials say the smoke was just the result of a burn-off.
