Drug Charges Land Shreveport Man In Jail

A Shreveport man who was pulled over for traffic violations ended up being hauled off to jail on drug charges.

Fifty-one-year-old Jackie Duane Havard of the 100 block of Carroll Street was stopped by a Bossier Sheriff's Deputy on Highway 71 for not having a license plate light.

During a search of his vehicle, marijuana and rolling papers were found in his truck.

Havard was arrested and booked into the Bossier Maximum Security Facility and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, no license plate light and expired motor vehicle inspection sticker.

His bond was set at $1,200.
